House fire in Orland Park, 8-7-24

Excerpts from patch.com:

The Orland Fire Protection District received multiple reports of a garage fire in the 8900 block of Oakdale Court Wednesday just before 5 p.m. On arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from the garage of a single-family home, with flames spreading into the second floor bedroom and attic.

Firefighters made a blitz attack to bring the blaze under control and extinguished a fence on fire between the garage and a neighboring house.

The residents escaped through a rear door.

A full still alarm was called for additional personnel and equipment at the scene and to backfill Orland stations. One firefighter was transported for heat exhaustion and treated at a local hospital before being released.

The home is currently uninhabitable and the fire is under investigation by the Orland Fire District Origin and Cause Team.

Other departments providing station coverage and manpower were Palos, Tinley Park, Palos Heights, Lemont, North Palos, Homer, and Mokena.

Antioch Fire Department history

From Todd Wolf on Facebook:

Saw Middleburg Heights’ American LaFrance tower. I believe it’s a 2006, they picked it up a few years ago from Antioch Illinois. I have no other info about it. Don’t see many of these around anymore.
