This from Mike Summa for #TBT:
For TBT-This was Orland FPD’s Engine 6023, a 1980’s ALF Century(unknown specs). This photo shows the then factory added 4 door enclosure that was popular at the time. Enjoy and comment.Mike Summa

Mike H, which RPI enclosures are you referring to? Orland never had anything worked on by RPI.

Thanks Tim I know RPI added their enclosures in the 80s and years after I’m wondering if Lemonts ALF century’s with extended cabs were built at the factory when they were ordered anyone know?

I believe it was an ’81……had a 671 Detroit, 1500/750. The cab enclosure was added by American LaFrance when they were in University Park and not by RPI.
Truck 6024 had the same enclosure added. They had 2 other pumpers (73 or 74’s) with 1000 series cabs that were refurbed with the addition of Century 2000 cabs.

Mike I believe the enclosed cab on this engine was built by RPI in Tipton indiana. They built quite a few of these back in the 1980s If you check out Lemonts ALF centurys they had the factory built cab enclosures which flow with the rest of the cab. Always enjoy your photos which bring fond memories of the past thanks……..
