Will they replace it with another engine?

A long list of electrical issues and other mechanical issues, when you inquire on the vehicle the chief will let you know what’s wrong with it.

My guess is they know they can get a lot of money for it, the used market is strong right now with the insane build times currently. Low miles and hours, appears to be in good shape, they’ll probably make back a decent amount of money from it. I’m guessing it either isn’t needed, or they need the money.

Lemont should buy it. they have one already and need a spare engine for sure. Could go in front line service in Lemont at St. 3. Especially with the logistics crisis on new deliveries.

I know they just put the new Engine 52 in service back in September. Maybe they are going to make the old 52, the new 51 and they want to sell this rig for some reason. Bill is right, makes no sense.

Why are they getting rid of their practically new Rescue/Engine or as some might call it Pumper/Squad. That rig is only 5 years old and they are selling it off. East Joliet appears to have a small fire department with 2 active stations and a Pumper Squad appeats to be a good choice of apparatus for a smaller fire department. It appears that they only run with 2 companies and 2 ambulances from 2 stations to begin with. In addition to some support apparatus that would probably be cross manned?
