I guess that I should know the reason why but anyone know why FMC designed the rear fender well like that?

Looks sharp. Hard to believe that most of those trucks built on that FORD chassis are no longer in service. Not just fire apparatus. Growing up in the 1970’s, you couldn’t go anywhere during the day without seeing one. Then there’s fewer and fewer trucks and buses with those cast spoke wheels now.
