From DeKalb Illinois Fire Department on Facebook:
The DeKalb Fire Department Friday held a dedication ceremony for the new fire engine at Station Two on South Seventh Street. As Fire Chief Mike Thomas explains, the ceremony honors the days of horse-drawn fire equipment. After a call, the firefighters would wash down the equipment before it was pushed back into the station.

I am guessing that the two HME’s will become reserves. I am guessing once Station 4 is open and operational, one of the HME’s will be front line out of station 4. I am guessing the last Pierce engine will be sold.

As badly needed as the fourth station out south. That department runs a lot more than they used to. Probably could use another ambo in service as well, at the new station
