I can think of the following that still run the 6.0
Franklin pk 2008 e series ambulance
Wood Dale fpd 2004 Ford f 250 pu
Itasca fpd 2005 f350 pu
Egv ambulance about 2005-07 e series
River Grove fd 2007 e series ambulance
Elmwood pk fd 2008 e series ambulance
River forest 2006 e series ambulance
Bristol WI fd 2006 or 2008 e series ambulance
Lake Geneva wi 2005-07 e series
And several public works with the 6.0 also

I was not aware of any of the 6.0 liters being good. The nice thing about the 6.0 was that they were easy to work on and parts were and still are plentiful for them.

Besides Cummins. Some Internationals have the option for another engine. A26 or S13. The A26 is a Man engine and the S13 is a Scania engine.

Plus, you notice now that NAVISTAR doesn’t even build their own engines anymore? CUMMINS seems to be their main source for engines now.

To me the 6.0 was like the max force engine. Some were good and some were bad. We’ve had more success with the Cummins engines.

Mike a lot of the 6.0 were great I can name at least 20 fire or public works that still have the 6.0

I did read the description. It says it was replaced with another 6.0 engine unknown miles. Show me where it says it had any engine upgrades because it’s not there in the article. The 6.0 were junk.

MIke .. maybe read the description the engine has been replaced.. The replacements were upgraded as well as the turbo’s when Ford replaced them.

I doubt any department is going to buy that as an ambulance. Especially with that 6.0 garbage in it.

Let’s take all the lights off but leave it up to the buyer to take the name off… now if a department buys it they have both the hassle of taking the name off and playing the game of putting all the lights back on and getting them working… would have been easier to put in the auction that the lights will be removed if not purchased by a department or used equipment dealer…
