Come on let’s cut out this childish colloquy. I don’t want to see this forum get locked up.

tim you make no sense
#3 by Tim on April 12, 2022 - 6:07 AM
Hairy you make me LAFFFFFFFFF! I have an opticom emitter for your new ranger.
#4 by harry on April 11, 2022 - 9:23 PM
dh well for your info i am in the market for a 22 ford ranger and every dealer tries to get me to order that but it was up in wayne mi at ford they told me u can only order the ranger right now also itasca pw has been trying to order an f series for almost 2 years now and ford has not been taking orders
#5 by The DH on April 11, 2022 - 8:10 PM
Hey harry beans, that’s what your name should be atleast…
Where did you get your information that Ford is not accepting F-series orders right now? Did you just stop by Ford HQ like you claim to stop by village garages and talk with the mechanics? “Wasteing” their time.
#6 by harry on April 11, 2022 - 6:39 PM
rich thats correct depends on the angle the vehicle is coming can make it not work or maybe they did not have it on i know all of franklin parks vehicles have this police fire and public works and yes it does have its moments it may not work but the main thing is appently everyone was ok
#7 by Rich S. on April 11, 2022 - 6:14 PM
Jeremy Roselle owns every vehicle in their fleet. Harry the traffic preemption system is a tool and like every tool it sometimes doesn’t work as it should.
#8 by harry on April 11, 2022 - 4:26 PM
clark did roselle not have the opticom going they must not have i have seen it respond dozens of times and the opticom is always going
#9 by harry on April 11, 2022 - 4:24 PM
tim once again i am right with most of what i say as for ? . ,; it means nothing to me it is wasteing my time if anyone on here does not like what i say dont comment back to me no problem
#10 by Clark on April 11, 2022 - 2:52 PM
Roselle’s medic ran a red light and got hit at Meacham and Nerge about a month ago. They were cited at fault.
#11 by Jeremy B. on April 11, 2022 - 1:05 PM
Does anyone know if this is owned by Roselle or if it’s part of their contract with Metro/Superior? I thought normally with their contracts they handled the ambulance purchasing/maintenance and that sort of thing but could be wrong.
It’d also explain why they got an Elmhurst reserve, I know they also have a contract with Metro – assuming that Metro owns the Elmhurst rig and just reassigned it to Roselle.
#12 by crabbymilton on April 11, 2022 - 8:32 AM
Well then they might have to select another chassis builder. Can’t afford to get stuck on one builder contract or not.
#13 by harry on April 11, 2022 - 8:05 AM
crabbymilton i do hope they can fix this because with the shortage of vehicles right now aside from demo ambulances i know that ford is not taking orders on f series right now so that will hurt them big
#14 by Tim on April 11, 2022 - 7:55 AM
Harry I really don’t care if you think you’re right or not, because most of us on this blog know most of the time you’re guessing at things. I don’t really care how many Roselle ambulances you saw somewhere at some point in time.
Tom W. is right. When your grammar and punctuation is that of a 10 year old, you do lose credibility. That’s just society, I’m not trying to be mean.
#15 by crabbymilton on April 11, 2022 - 6:16 AM
Can’t imagine that they would write off an ambulance because of the airbags deploying. From the pictures it doesn’t look beyond repair. Unless of course this rig was close to the end of it’s useful life anyway. Obviously, we can hope and pray that all in involved are ok.
Guys, I know I have said things on here that may have PO’d people on here over some issue but I try not to get personal about it. I sure hope we can have spirited discussions without getting ugly. I have seen that countless times in other discussion groups it it’s sad.

tom w thank you for you kind input but to be honest i know how to put a period or question mark i choose not to it is a waste of time for me
#17 by Tom W on April 10, 2022 - 10:37 PM
Harry,
I am respectfully asking for you to please keep your comments to yourself, until you can learn correct punctuation and grammar. Unfortunately, any credibility is lost without this ability! You are making a mockery of yourself. If you are willing and would like some guidance with this, I am more than happy to help you out! Please let me know?

tim well i was right wasnt i i guess b4 someone questions if i know what i am talking about i likely do

It takes 2 G-Forces for airbags to be deployed. While the damage doesn’t appear all that bad, 2 G-Forces is a pretty significant impact. The damage on this ambulance is probably more than a door and airbag.
It’s hard to say what happens to this ambulance. Some municipalities are self insured and others aren’t. Ultimately, it’ll come down to what’s most cost effective.
There are some options as the chassis itself is probably still in good shapes. Maybe put a new cab on the ambulance, or remove the box and put on a new chassis.
Most importantly, I hope those involved in the accident are okay.
#20 by Rich S. on April 10, 2022 - 8:30 PM
Also in this picture it looks like both drivers side and passenger side airbags are deployed.
#21 by Rich S. on April 10, 2022 - 8:28 PM
Roselle has 3 ambulances 64- frontline, 65 2nd out (truck jumps over), 64R 3rd out medics from engine will take it if needed. They try not to use mutual aid unless absolutely necessary. This is probably why the have asked for the spare from outside.
#22 by harry on April 10, 2022 - 8:17 PM
tim if it is pure speculation then b4 the accident why did i see 2 roselle ambulances responding at the same time multple days
#23 by Tim on April 10, 2022 - 7:43 PM
Harrry thanks for your insight. Complete speculation is the way to go these days.
#24 by harry on April 10, 2022 - 5:28 PM
cmk420 maybe they run 2 frontline and a reserve because prior to this accident because i work in elk grove village accross from the hospital and there has been many days that i have seen 2 roselle ambulances responding the same day at the same time
#25 by Cmk420 on April 10, 2022 - 4:44 PM
I have not been out there in quite a while, but didn’t Roselle have three ambulances at one time? Probably within the last five years? M64, M65 & M64R. Why would they need another reserve ambulance from Elmhurst if they (potentially) still have M65 & M64R?
#26 by harry on April 10, 2022 - 4:21 PM
tim well clearly a van verus an ambulance cost major differance but in the time we are in they will fix this that is about 20000 in damage
#27 by E. C. Darroll on April 10, 2022 - 2:35 PM
What seems more concerning for totaling of the vehicle is the damage to that driver’s front corner of the ambulance module. It doesn’t look horrible and could be very superficial and not an issue, hopefully. That being said, when ambulances are hit in their corners it can very easily break apart the construction of said corner and push or shift the side walls out the other adjacent ends…effectively ruining the box. I’ll be interested to see if that happened here.
#28 by Michael m on April 10, 2022 - 12:27 PM
I wonder if they took it all they way to Foster Coach sales in Sterling?
More than likely, given the cost of a new rig, especially since this one is only 2 years old. I am guessing they will fix it. I think the cost to replace a airbag and a door is considerably less than getting a whole new rig.
Right now Medic 65 is frontline. Somehow, they got a reserve ambulance from Elmhurst as their reserve ambulance. I am guessing they are planning on it being out of service for a extended period of time.
#29 by Tim on April 10, 2022 - 7:08 AM
Harry you can’t compare an everyday van to an emergency vehicle.
#30 by The DH on April 9, 2022 - 11:16 AM
Mabas guy, most vehicles get totaled out at that point because a cars value is significantly lower than an ambo, so a couple airbags easily are over the insurance criteria for totaling a car out…an ambo’s value, especially a newer one, is way higher than your Ford Escort…
#31 by harry on April 9, 2022 - 10:18 AM
mabas guy that is most of the time true about airbags but a school dist vehicle by me was hit it was just a van and the side airbag came out and it was fixed but maybe now with the fact that no one can get new vehicles maybe they will fix it
and yes mike h i see it all the time i work in elk grove village accross from the hospital and i see it always vehicles not stopping or moving over for emergency vehicles
#32 by Mike hellmuth on April 9, 2022 - 9:34 AM
I haven’t any idea of what happened but I know in other accidents some drivers are in a hurry and disregard the lights and sirens of emergency
vehicles. This is what Scott’s law is all about…….
#33 by Mabas Guy on April 9, 2022 - 4:36 AM
Once a vehicles airbags have been deployed most insurance companies choose to total out the vehicle so I’m guessing that it will be written off by insurance
#34 by harry on April 8, 2022 - 10:04 PM
thats why i have not seen this ambulance in a while hope they fix it and hope everyone is ok
