Interesting comments. I am sure there are going to be pros and cons to any apparatus manufacturer. Interesting comment about South Elgin going with E-One as opposed to Rosenbauer. Maybe South Elgin got a better price from E-One this time around for the new Engine 23.

Glen Ellyn has had good luck with the 3 Rosenbauers. Rosenbauer is gaining momentum in the Illinois market. It used to be rare that you would see a Rosenbauer.
South Elgin bought a Rosenbauer 3-4 years back but recently ordered an E-1 engine. I’m not sure what type of experience they have had with Rosenbauer.

You’ll probably going to have to ask the individual departments who purchased them to see how they’re holding up. Glen Ellyn has three of them now, Bartlett has two of them in production currently, and there are some FPD’s downstate who have some in production as well. They’re still fairly new to the American market when compared to other manufacturers, so I’m sure more time will tell how much of a beating they can take. I’ve never operated a Rosenbauer and am not to familiar with them.

No one has answered my question on an older Rosenbauer post. HOW ARE THEY HOLDING UP???? With Chicago’s 4 two-piece squads, Lemont’s midmount, South Elgin’s engine, Wheeling’s engine and rear mount tower… those were some of the originals delivered in our area. Any comments? Pros and cons.
There is an influx of them coming into the Chicagoland area. Just curious to hear since someday soon we’ll all need replacement apparatus ordered.
