Are those white steel wheels with chrome center caps?

Station 51 has the reserve truck currently. Station 52 has the reserve engine. I wouldn’t think they would split up the squad’s, but I also have that feeling the 5th ambulance could possibly run out of 52 due to the high volume of runs. It’s all up in the air, who know’s if this will happen or not, all rumors so far.

Years ago there was talk about putting a second ambulance at 51 because of friendship village. I really doubt they are going to break up squad 55 and 55A as they share personnel and equipment. Moving tower 53 would be a bad idea too because of all the industry in their still district. Schaumburg really handicapped themselves when they took the second engine out of service on meachum rd. And went to a rescue engine concept. Had they kept a traditional squad at 54 they are right by the highway along with truck 52 and tower 53 covered the industrial area. Since engine 51 didn’t have a second suppression piece in their house they always had a 4th assigned to that engine. My guess is that 51 will run 2 ambulances and the engine if they get a 5th ambulance.

Tyler, both those scenarios might be valid.
If Tower 53 does go to Station 51, there are only three bays at that station & there is a reserve engine there already; however, that opens up a spot at Sta. 53 for them to move Squad 55A over there. A lot of rig shuffling would have to happen.
Another possibility is that they could double up ambulances at Station 52. They have a 4 bay station, and one of the bays has a front and rear door. I haven’t been out there in a while, but I thought that one of the bays isn’t even used right now, since they only have an ambulance, engine and truck in that station. That area is such a busy area, so maybe a second ambulance out of Sta. 52 would help out.
I also believe that Station 54 is the most underutilized of the five Schaumburg stations. Lots of room in bay that isn’t used.

Michael M,
I’d assume it would be at 55, but they would have to move one of the squads for sure then to fit an ambulance in that station.
They also might be moving Tower 53 to station 51.

If they eventually do add a 5th Ambulance where would they put it? I am guessing it would be Ambulance 55?

Cmk420,
Correct it’s Ambulance 51 and 52. Also they only have one reserve ambulance at this moment. Rumor has it possibly soon, they might be adding a 5th ambulance in town.

Looking sharp. I am guessing the other one is 52? They always seem to give the new stuff to 51 and 52, then move the “slightly used” ones to 53 and 54. Looks like that’s the plan here. Do they still plan to keep only one reserve ambulance?
