This from Larry Shapiro:
Schaumburg firefighters were sent to an unknown address on Lunt Avenue, just blocks from Station 53, early Friday evening for a building fire. They reported a header almost immediately and the Code 3 was upgraded to a Code 4. They went defensive within minutes as there was a partial wall collapse on the east side of the building at 1037 Lune Avenue that had been divided into storage lockers. Both Schaumburg aerials deployed master streams in addition to several hand lines and ground monitors that were in use.
Excerpts from abc7chicago.com:
It took about two-and-a-half hours to get the fire under control Thursday after it broke out at around 6:30 p.m. in a building in an industrial area on Lunt Avenue.
Part of the problem for firefighters was the walls in the structure collapsed, very quickly limiting their abilities. Another issue was the building layout. It was divided into storage units with no word on what was inside that could have started this fire.
No one was injured. The person inside that called 911 managed to get out safely.

This from Larry Shapiro:
Schaumburg firefighters were dispatched to a commercial building fire in an auto body repair shop shortly after 6PM on Sunday evening (12-4-22) at 841 W Wise Road, a block from Schaumburg Station 53. Police reported 20-foot flames in the rear of the building which firefighters confirmed on arrival. The alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 working fire bringing all of the Schaumburg companies to the scene in addition to an engine and ambulance from Roselle. Change of quarters companies from several area departments were sent to Schaumburg stations.
The fire was actually in a dumpster/garbage area in the rear of the building which resulted in some communication into the building’s roof. Companies had the fire out within 10 minutes but worked for over an hour checking for extension and hitting hotspots. The corrected address was 857 W Wise Road.
The Hanover Township Emergency Services also responded to the scene with support units and lighting.

Excerpts from wgntv.com:
Schaumburg police officers arrived at 6 Treebark Drive just after 9:20 p.m. Friday evening for a reported fire and observed flames and smoke emitting from the home. They found an 87-year-old man inside and were able to safely evacuate him. The man indicated his wife was still upstairs in the house. An officer attempted to proceed upstairs, but was overcome by heavy smoke and evacuated.
Firefighters arrived and later recovered the victim from upstairs. The 84-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 87-year-old man was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. One officer was also transported for smoke inhalation and was later released.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and remains under investigation.
Excerpts from the DailyHerald.com:
Seven people, including a firefighter, were injured during an early-morning fire Saturday in an apartment building on the 100 block of Salado Court in Schaumburg. When
first responderspolice and firefighters arrived, there was fire the first floor and two people were trapped on the third floor. They began to evacuate the building and called for assistance from several neighboring fire departments. The two people trapped on the third floor jumped from the window and were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with serious injuries. The fire left one, 12-unit building uninhabitable and a neighboring building was heavily damaged by smoke.
