Good thing is they are not buying Pierce. That’s all that really matters here.

In addition to Aurora, I’m also surprised that Joliet is going with the Typhoon chassis.

Mike C, what kind of issues is Naperville experiencing with their new Pierce engine?

Mike C that’s interesting to hear about Naperville. What issues are they having with their turd?

I hope this is an error about Aurora going with the Typhoon. Cummins just updated their engines with the new X12 and X15 as well as the medium block is now referred to as the L9. The price difference between the medium block and big block is more than $20k. I personally think it’s worth the extra money because of the longevity you get out of a big block. I’m glad to see the biggest cities in Illinois seem to use E-One. Stay away from Pierce! That Pierce that Naperville just got is a total turd. Hope they never buy another one! The E-One is a much better rig!

@Michael m… the two previous replaced were for E5 and E12. This new order is for E8. Not sure why the change to the Typhoon. But this will be the first engine with roll up doors and a return to booster reels.

Which engine will Wauconda replace? Which engine will Aurora replace? Two years ago they repacked two engines one of which I know was engine 5.
I am surprised Aurora went with the Typhoon Chasis, they have been going with Cyclone 2.
