I saw this truck about two years ago at the entrance to the Volo Auto Museum. Its ladder was extended upward, supporting a banner advertising the Museum. Two large cardboard “eyes” had been placed inside the windshield, making this vehicle look like it was from one of the “Pixar” Car Movies. Although the Palos Heights lettering had been removed, the “PH” symbols remained on the cab doors and “6404” at the rear.

Those older PIERCE rigs did stand out fairly well.
I have several brochures of them from that time frame.
