This from Mike Summa:
This is the Burnham Fire Dept.’s 1975 Dodge/Marion 250/100 mini pumper. Question, the 1970’s were big for Dodge mini pumpers, every dept. seemed to have them. But today why has Ford, and only Ford taken over?Enjoy, Mike Summa

HEHE Johnny is going after the pretty nurse and Roy is drinking coffee while waiting for him. Brad, you’re pretty much on target here.
DODGE is gone for now it RAM but I know I’m splitting hairs. I generally prefer FORD products since 4 out my 6 cars in my life(and current) have been FORD. I have had several company issue work vans over the last 32 years. 3 FORD’s and 3 then DODGE’s plus one CHEVROLET. The FORD’s held up well and were the most reliable. The CHEVROLET was good overall. The DODGES ranged from fair to very poor in terms of reliability and lousy in quality. In the case of CHRYSLER, for me their products are as nice as anyone else’s but for whatever unknown reason, they just can’t seem to get their quality problems solved. This goes back many decades. One of the reasons the DESOTO division went away was because of quality problems.
I really like the CHRYSLER 300 and DODGE CHARGER but given so many not so nice reviews, I would think twice or 3 times before buying one.

To answer your Ford question: Ford seems to be the most dependable these days. Dodge was big back then, but not anymore. I remember Lansing used to have one that was stick shift, engine 101, but it is long gone. GM has had issues lately with their motors burning oil and they are in the middle of a lawsuit over it. As for Dodge, the Cummins engine is great but the trans is not so good.

Where are Gage and DeSoto?
