This from Dan McInerney:
This is Westchester’s old Engine 2. (1990 E-One Cyclone, 1500/500). It is a loaner to us from our E-One dealer while HME/Ahrens Fox does repair work on both of our engines. It is in service this week as our truck is also in for some repair work.

Iowa did not learn after they bought the first one from OPFD!

HME is building their own rigs now. The Models are Silver Fox and Ahrens-Fox. So Engine 602 & 603 are HME(Ahrens-Fox). Seems like a lot of people are thinking that Ahrens-Fox is back in business. HME just bought the name that’s all.

I wonder how much that old Oak Park Tower sold for to the Iowa Dept. That was such a nice, clean truck.

E603 and E602 went back to HME/Ahrens fox last month for warranty work, with E603 going first. Then both rigs had to go out for motor work which took another week. As of 5 days ago, both engines are back in their respective houses and E604 (1998 Smeal) is back at station 1 running as the floating spare.
On related news, E-One has (for the most part) completed the 95′ platform, and the chiefs are down there now doing the final inspection as I write this. It should be headed north shortly to the dealer, our fleet and then to us. It is projected to go in service on September 1. As soon as I get decent pics I will post them. The current tower ladder 631 has been sold to Sergeant Bluff, IA.
