Off the beaten track …

Something rather unusual for the site:

Larry Shapiro has an abundance of Firehouse, Fire Engineering, and Fire Apparatus magazines to dispose of. Before sending them to the recycling station, he wonders if any of our readers would be interested in rescuing them?

Firehouse coverage, though not inclusive, is from 2003-2010, Fire Engineering is 2010-2011, Fire Apparatus is 2002-2006

If you’re interested, send an email to the webmaster and he’ll hook you up.

Frankfort apparatus updates

This from Karl Klotz:

Frankfort FPD recently put into service an updated Rehab rig as well as a Dive Squad.  Both rigs were former Matco Tool trucks with 18′ bodies.
  • Dive Squad 3: 2002 Freightliner MT45 w/ LDV body work (station 3)
  • Rehab 776: 1999 Freightliner MT45 w/ LDV body work (station 1)

Also, there has been some shuffling of ambulances with the addition of Ambulance 1.
  • Ambulance 1: 2010 Ford F450/Horton (station 1)
  • Ambulance 4 (Ford/Horton) was reassigned to Ambulance 2,
  • Ambulance 2’s rig is now running as Ambulance 4.
  • Ambulance 1’s former FL is now a reserve
