This from Josh Boyajian:
This morning around 5:30, the Cicero Fire Department had a report of a car into a building at 3545 S 56th Court. Upon arrival the call was upgraded to a pin-in response which brought the 2 trucks, another engine, and 3 ambulances. Two people were seriously hurt. Tower Ladder 1 and Engine 3 were on the extrication tools while Truck 2 was assisting the medics with the victims. Here are some pictures I took.

no words can ever express the heartbreak one feels. i will never forget that vibrant spirit and beautiful smile, a beautiful person, loving and great mother, who was so proud of her children. i will never forget the joy she had when she described her children to me, she said “my daughter bridget is a marine! my beautiful bridget” “my coco my son, how proud she said works, my fine looking son!” she went on to express how much she loved her children to me, when i first met her. her legacy will live on through her beautiful children. god only knows why he took another angel

Even though we never hung around but we did grow up in same area, she was always a sweet heart…………I would always see her alot driving the school bus and working really hard at the movie theater. I can say she was a hard working mama, I pray your kids will be in good hands and well taken care of, i imagine the pain her kids are going thru. God Bless you Gracie

To my friend Gracie,
I will miss you very much! What I will miss most of all is every time we passed whether we were on our bus, in our car, or on the sidewalk you would throw me a kiss. So once in awhile throw me a kiss from heaven. I will know it is from you.
Your Friend from District 99

the woman from the car passed away, was a bad accident at a bad corner, the car had to be going over 25 mph, lot of damage and impact

Tom, the speed (limit) is 25 miles per hr. I’m sure as you, she must have been traveling alot faster. All I heard was the BOOM, no squeal of brakes. This intersection is a 2-way street and 56th crt is one-way, no stops signs. The same for the intersection on 37th and 56th crt. There is only one stop sign from 39th street to 35th street. We have had many accidents on both intersections. The cars just speed thru. Several residents have asked the town for a stop sign, and were told no.

Looks like a quiet residential area. Stop sign or no stop sign, I’d venture to say the speed limit is maybe 25mph? Seems the car would have been going faster than that for pin-in situation unless air-bag deployment is considered a pin-in. I’m just a casual observer though, so I’d be interested in learning more about this.
