To our readers:
Oftentimes, items that are posted to the blog, which are not time sensitive, are created and put into a queue several days before they actually post. This is to ensure that there is always something ready to go. The site and blog require a huge time commitment and this helps alleviate some of that time each day.
This means that sometimes information which is passed along may already be in the queue and we might inadvertently neglect to match that information from multiple sources with an appropriate acknowledgement of each reader.
Occasionally, as in the case with the new delivery photo of the Geneva engine, several readers pass along the same information, and we just acknowledge the source as “several readers” or some similar phrase. We appreciate the information that comes to us from readers and hope that this helps to clarify the method behind our madness.
We suggest that new information is submitted in an email to the webmaster as opposed to submitting a comment. This way, the information is in a place that is kept aside until it has been incorporated into a new post.
Lastly, we are human, and are not immune to mistakes.
An authentic email address with a comment would allow us to respond directly to individual complaints, and as such, we feel that it is not necessary to submit comments like:
F%$@ you people. Why should I make any attempt to contribute information that I find and not get any credit.
Thank you for your understanding.

I really enjoy your website and have often passed it on to others, and even used it to settle a bet on shift once. It won me a soda. And the historic photos are awesome! So thank you for all you do!

I think this one of the better wesites on the internet for firefighting . I surf the internet looking for firefighting websites. This is a great website and you know you are doing a good job when other firefighting websites mention you and use your information on their sites . They are usually up to date and current with whats happening in the chicagoland . If there is a major fire in the area , the website usually has it the next day and they are usually on current with new apparatus and fire department news . I think we should say thank you for the hard work ,they do . They do this for their love of the fire service and dont make any money doing this . I say we should say THANK YOU and we are thankful for the hard work that they put into the website . So i say THANK YOU and keep up the good work !!!!!!!! CGR

Screw them ! Love your blog and all the great information you provided. If you don’t like it , find another blog. Sounds like a typical firemen.

I agree with lashedup, we appreciate this website. It’s a good source to see what’s going on in the fire fighting world and to see their new apparatus. This is a busy site so don’t get mad over something that isn’t hurting someone physical. Come on, you see that the webmaster always gives credit, but if it is forgotten you must realize that this is indeed a busy site. See where I’m going, BUSY SITE. Do you need it in bold?
