Park Forest South FD history

This from a reader:

I recently saw some pictures of the former Park Forest South equipment both while in service and in the bone yard. I was wondering if there were more images available of all the original equipment. I was a POC from 1978 until I went into the Marines in 1981.
I have  a few photos from the Los Angeles County Fire Museum, which might bring back some memories for people like your pictures did for me!
Please let me know where I may obtain furter pictures of the PFSFD.

North Palos FPD is added to the site

North Palos Fire Protection District patchIn MABAS Division 21, the North Palos Fire Protection District has been added to the site. The district runs out of three stations, one of which is the former Worth Fire Department which became part of the North Palos district in January of 2009. The Worth personnel, station and apparatus were merged into or became part of the North Palos Fire Protection District.

Palos Heights FPD is added to the site

Palos Heights Fire Protection District patchThe Palos Heights Fire Protection District has been added to MABAS Division 19. This now completes all of Division 19 departments. Palos Heights has two stations with 22 career personnel covering 4.5 square miles. Each station has a jump company that will staff the engine or ambulance. The ambulance is staffed by two and the officer follows in 6408 or 6418.

Engines are from American LaFrance or Pierce, and the ambulances are either Medtec or Road Rescue. Palos Heights does not have an aerial unit. They also maintain a retire ambulance for their dive team.

Chicago Ridge is added to the site

Chicago Ridge Fire Department patchIn MABAS Division 21, the Chicago Ridge Fire Department has been added to the site. The department operates two stations. One is staffed by career firefighters and the other by paid-on-call volunteers.

They run with a mixture of apparatus including an E-ONE tower ladder, engines from Pierce, Luverne, and E-ONE, plus ambulances from Road Rescue and Aurora Truck Body.

Tri-State FPD added to the site

The Tri-State Fire Protection District in MABAS Division 10 has been added to the site. Tri-State operates four stations with two medic units, four engines, a tower ladder and a battalion chief. Their frontline medic units are by Horton and the suppression apparatus is a mix of Crimson, Pierce, and Smeal. The district encompasses areas of Darien, Burr-Ridge, Willowbrook, and unincorporated DuPage County.

Tri-State has their own dispatchers that work from Station 2.
