Bill Friedrich informs us that the Franklin Park Fire Department has purchased two engines. These will be built on raised roof Spartan Metrostar EMFD chassis. Marion Body Works is building the bodies that will have side-mount, 1500-gpm Waterous pumps. They will feature low hose beds and enclosed ladder storage. Delivery is slated for early 2013. In Division 20, the Norwood Park Fire Protection District has been added to the site. Norwood Park operates out of one station on Lawrence Avenue in Harwood Heights. Their fire district covers Harwood Heights, Norridge, and Norwood Park Township which is unincorporated Cook County. They have a large station with three Medtec ambulances, two Pierce engines, a Pierce tower ladder, a command car, utility pickup, and the MABAS Division 20 Haz Mat Unit #749.

The department is expecting delivery of a new Pierce Impel engine in April and will be selling what is currently Engine 101, a 1996 Pierce Saber engine.

Bill Friedrich informs us that the Northlake Fire Protection District in MABAS Division 20 has placed an order with TC Fire Apparatus for a rescue pumper from Marion on a Spartan chassis with a 10-inch raised roof Metro Star ELF cab. The new unit which is expected in the Spring of 2012, will have a 1,500-GPM Waterous pump, a 750-gallon water tank and a 50-gallon Class A foam cell. (originally we had posted delivery in 2013 by mistake)
Bill Friedrich submitted the following information about several new units that have been ordered from Marion in Wisconsin.
– For MABAS, a 26-foot’ walk-in Special Service Squad to be used as a combination EMS support unit, mobile morgue, and supply truck. It will be mounted on an IHC 7400 chassis with an extended cab.
– For MABAS Division 11, a Haz Mat unit on a Ford F- 550 four-door chassis with a 12-foot, walk-around box, and a 24-foot trailer.
– Elk Grove Township FPD has ordered an engine on a 2011 Spartan Metro Star chassis expected to be delivered early in 2012. It will have a 1,500-GPM pump, a 750-gallon water tank, and a 50-gallon foam tank.
