The NORTHWEST HERALD reports that:
Deputy Fire Chief Ken Caudle will become chief of the Huntley Fire Protection District effective Nov. 3, according to a district news release.
Caudle is a 25-year member of the fire service and has served 13 years with the Huntley department. He will succeed Chief Jim Saletta, who plans to retire Nov. 2.
Caudle has filled every rank and leadership role in Huntley, including accreditation manager when the district obtained accreditation in 2009, according to the release. He also was project manager for the construction of the district’s Station 4, which was the county’s first “green” fire station.
Saletta, 63, has led the district for 11 years. He started in 2001 as fire chief after 22 years in Elgin, where he rose from firefighter to deputy chief.
