Excerpts from the Dailyherald.com:

Three dogs died in a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Libertyville. “(The dogs) were overcome by the smoke,” Libertyville Assistant Fire Chief Robert Key said.

Firefighters were called to a single-family home just after noon on the 400 block of West Lincoln Avenue. The home’s owner arrived to discover the blaze, which was extinguished quickly, but the two-story home was damaged heavily by smoke and left uninhabitable.
