Algonquin – LITH responded at 1030pm on the 29th for a house fire and arrived with the whole rear engulfed in flames and fire through the roof.Around 430am they were called back for fire through the roof again. More photos located here.
On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at 10:23 p.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 910 Applewood Lane, in Algonquin. First crews arrived on the scene at 10:27 p.m. and found a two-story, single-family home with heavy fire coming from the rear exterior. Crews initiated an aggressive attack and the fire was under control at 10:42 p.m. Firefighters were informed by neighbors that the house was unoccupied and under renovation. No firefighters or civilians were injured.
The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A damage estimate is not yet available.
