This from John Tulipano:
Schaumburg had a box alarm at approximately 0700 yesterday (6-3-14) at 525 Estes in a one-story 75X100 commercial building, they had heavy fire and used 1-tower ladder, 1-ladder pipe, and several hand lines, the fire was well under control when I arrived and companies were doing some overhaul at the roof lines in the front of the building and beginning the investigation.

This from Eric Haak:
At approximately 1045 hrs on Saturday, companies in Chicago’s 23rd Battalion were dispatched to the report of a fire in an apartment building on the 7900 Block of South St. Lawrence in the Southside Chatham neighborhood. Engine 122 was first in and reported light smoke from the 3rd floor. The apartment’s resident was standing outside and reported that the fire was in a back bedroom. Smoke was very minimal at the front of the building but once in the rear, it was obvious there was a decent working fire. Companies got water on the fire pretty quick and the incident was brought under control within minutes.

Tower 381 backed down to set up and McHenry Engine 44 supplied water to them from the hydrant down the street. Multiple lines were dropped and operating . Defensive attack on the fire due to a collapse in the roof and small explosions.
