This from Steve Redick:
Saturday (4/27/29) at 44th & Vincennes. It looked to me like the fire was on 2 floors in a concealed space. Not much to see but a few decent images of a typical operation. All of the trucks seemed to be in spares.Steve

Here are a few images from the still and box alarm at 4555 S. Champlain. Literally around the corner and down the block from Engine 45’s house. 45 had heavy smoke from the third floor on arrival. The first image here is from about 20 minutes in.

23 Sep 17- The 5th Battalion and companies were stilled out at approximately 0645 hours. While en route, the Englewood FAO announced a Still & Box at this location for reports of people trapped inside the building. Engine Co. 84 and Truck Co. 51 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire in the rear of a 3 story ordinary apartment building. Battalion 5 got on scene shortly after and reported fire through the roof. A 2-11 Alarm was requested by 2-2-1 who pulled all companies out of the building due to dangerous fire conditions. (5) 2-1/2” lines were led out while Tower Ladder 37 and Squad Co. 5’s Snorkel worked elevated master streams. Engine Co. 84, Engine Co. 45, and Engine Co. 50 utilized their deck guns. Searches could not be completed due to structural integrity of the building. Companies also battled high humidity and high 80s temperature. Still Alarm companies: E84 E47 T51 T30 BN5 Sq5 2-7-5 RIT BN6 T15, A55 A36 4-5-8.

This from Eric Haak:
This fire came in about 1:30 Saturday afternoon (1/28/17). It was in a great old home from the 1800’s at 45th and Ellis. I arrived just after it was boxed by the 5th Battalion. It looked like the fire was mostly in the attic area. The exposure was reported as vacant and in poor condition but the fire was held to the original occupied section.
