Chicago Still And Box Alarm Fire 220 N Laflin
This from Drew Gresik:
The 18th Battalion battled a working fire in a red-X building at 3849 on Flournoy. Chicago Police helicopter ‘PH1’ called it in on the Zone and reported that there was a house on fire and it was really cooking. Engine 95 deck-gunned it on arrival as they had heavy fire showing from the 2, and then companies led out (2) 2.5” lines while performing an exterior attack. A third line was led out as Squad 1’s Snorkel was set up and flowing water in the vacant lot on Side D.Drew Gresik

Pictures from Chicago Heights’ house fire on 15th & Lowe on Wednesday. Pretty well knocked when I got there, in overhaul and hitting hot spots. Also pictured is Flossmoor’s former ambulance 1370 which now belongs to Chicago Heights as ambulance 681. While fighting the house fire, they also responded down the street for a vehicle smoking heavily.

Washington and Sacramento yesterday. I arrived just as the fire went through the roof and operations were going defensive. This was an historic building that was under rehab. I think the best shot is of the snorkel postioned in a tight spot for an effective operation.
Happy new year!
