Buffalo Grove police and fire were dispatched for a woman pinned under a car this morning (7/17/20) in the Chase Plaza shopping center at Lake-Cook and Arlington Heights roads. The woman’s leg was caught underneath her car which apparently was in neutral instead of park when she exited the vehicle. Patrons of the nearby stores were able to shift the car into park before police officers and firefighters arrived. The car was raised with airbags to facilitate the victim’s release. She was then transported to an area hospital.

Excerpts from Fox6now.com:
Three children were struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near 22nd Street and Center Street Thursday evening, Oct. 24, and one died. The driver did not stop.
Police said the hit-and-run crash happened around 5:30 p.m. when a driver disregarded a red light. The crash involved a 10-year-old boy, a 6-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old girl — as well as two vehicles. Officials were not sure if the children were struck by both of the vehicles — but said both vehicles fled the scene. The 6-year-old girl died. The other two children, including the 6-year-old’s sister and cousin, were seriously hurt.
The striking vehicle was described as a 2007-2009 Saturn Aura, gray in color, with front end damage and tinted windows.
Excerpts from an earlier article at jsonline.com:
For the next two months Milwaukee police will publicize the names, booking photos, and arrest information of people convicted of and sentenced for felony reckless driving and/or fleeing an officer. The new practice of publicizing the information on the Milwaukee Police Department’s social media platforms is called the “Keep MKE’s Streets Safe” initiative.
Many of those arrested for the offenses are career criminals, and 32 arrested this year have been arrested at least twice for fleeing from police.
The announcement came after a crash that injured three people in the 3100 block of North 35th Street and followed a police pursuit.
Officers were chasing a stolen vehicle involved in an armed robbery/home invasion reported a short time earlier in the 2700 block of West State Street after the driver failed to pull over during an attempted traffic stop. The officers canceled the pursuit, but the driver continued to flee recklessly before crashing into another vehicle.
Currently, officers may chase vehicles linked to violent crimes and are allowed to pursue cars tied to drug dealing or reckless driving.
On Aug. 1, Lequon McCoy, 19, was killed when the driver of a car being chased by police that reached speeds as high as 80 mph ran a red light and struck his Jeep Renegade at North 12th and West Locust streets.
A police chase April 18 in which 18-year-old Larenzo Jones was fatally injured stemmed from a shooting that wounded two girls, ages 13 and 16, and a 14-year-old boy. Jones was in the suspect vehicle.
And on June 7, 2018, Police Officer Charles Irvine Jr., 23, was killed in a rollover crash on the city’s northwest side during a pursuit of a reckless driver. His partner, Officer Matthew Schulze, who was driving, was also was injured.
