The DH was correct… it was Palos I was thinking of with the new truck, not North Palos.

North Palos Truck 804 is staffed with 3 members with an additional 2 “jumping over” from the ambulance. Their reserve truck 814, formerly of Elmwood Park, is also a 110′ stick but has no pump or tank. They have an E-One Cyclone II engine on order.
Bedford Park Snorkel 705 is their fully equipped reserve truck. It is due on box cards in Division 10 & 11, manned with Engine 710’s crew “jumping over.” Their new Pierce tower should be delivered very soon.

North Palos did not get a new truck they got a 110ft stick with a pump. Truck 804 is on everyone’s still or box as it is manned with 5 guys everyday. The reserve they got is the old elmwood park eone open cab

Tower/Truck/Quint Rundown in Mabas 21
Bedford Park: 1 tower, 1 snorkel (Is the snorkel a spare or always manned? Maybe a jump company? The tower is being replaced with a newer tower soon.) — snorkel is a spare, cross-staffed when requested on a Box Card
Bridgeview: none
Burbank: truck (100?)
Central Stickney: tower (75?) (manned? jump?) Jump
Chicago Ridge: Quint (78?)
Evergreen Park: 1 Truck (100?), 1 Snorkel (are they running this ever?)—Reserve, 2nd out in town, when requested on Box Cards
Hometown: none
North Palos: I think they just got a new truck, no? Are they still keeping a spare? –Not aware of a new truck for them, Palos FPD did. NP FPD has a spare, as pictured on the site.
Oak Lawn: Quint (75?)
Roberts Park: Truck (100?) – no water or pump
Summit: none
Please correct any inaccuracies. —Corrected

I am surprised Great Lakes Pre-Owned Fire Apparatus didn’t take the old tower ladder on trade.

The former tower ladder was better suited for not only Chicago Ridge, but for automatic aid to Oak Lawn as it was their west side truck company and to the rest of Division 21 for mutual aid. The benefits were because of it’s 95′ reach for setbacks and elevation, versatility of having a basket for rescue, roof and master stream operations, excellent capacity with a 2250 gpm pump and ample compartment space. The new “quint” which is a carbon copy of Joke Lawn’s Quint 3, is only a 78′ straight stick with a smaller pump and drastically less compartment space. The “chief” should learn the fundamentals of truck company operations and realize that the St. Louis quint concept does not work as they resorted back to traditional engine and truck companies.

I find it funny that Chicago Ridge sold their Tower ladder (which was a QUINT by definition) to buy a quint because the “chief” said they needed a quint and that the tower ladder wasn’t a quint. Maybe the “chief” should do a little research on apparatus. How demoralizing to be led by such incompetence. For those that aren’t FFs and for those FFs unsure, a quint (5 things) must have A) ability to carry water (check); B) ability to pump water (check); C) Ability to carry hose (check); D) ability to carry ground ladders required by NFPA (check) and E) Have an aerial device (check; it doesn’t matter if it is a straight tip or has a basket).
