To reduce response times in our northern district due to heavy snow and possible white out conditions we are staffing our brush truck 1438 at the Illinois Tollway facility at Rt. 20 and I-90. The brush truck carries EMS equipment, extrication equipment and has fire suppression capabilities. Firefighters Morgan and Ribandt have been assigned to this detail. We signed an agreement with the Illinois Tollway two years ago for these situations. This is the second time we’ve implemented the plan. Last time we reduced response times by over 10 minutes. We thank the Illinois Tollway! This will be the last winter for this as station 2 will be open in the late spring or early summer.
