The most recent Sutphen midmount Kenosha purchased was in 2021. The delivery pics show it was originally lettered for Truck 4, however it ended up going to Co.7. It is a SL100 2000/480. The Sutphen tower, previously at 7, has been reassigned as Truck 44, the reserve.

Nick – Station 4 is an engine and medic now. It’s been Truck 1 and Tower 7 since they combined Stations 3 and 5. Unless something changed in 2023…
Engines 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Med 1, 2, 4, 6, 7
Truck 1, 7

Kenosha shut down stations 3 and 5 and combined them. This formed station 1 which runs 2 engines (Engine’s 3 and 5), Truck 1, Med 1 and Rescue 1. They still have Truck 4 and Truck 7.

Mabas I thought they had 3 truck companies. Used to be trucks 3,4 and 7. 7 was a stick with a pump because engine 7 was taken out of service. I know they built a few new firehouses and combined companies but I haven’t paid attention to Kenosha in a while.
Harry they’re not and have not used commercial chassis for fire equipment there. Only ambulances. That I know

So does anyone know if this will replace the current Truck 1 or will the KFD staff a 3rd truck co. in the future?

What does public works have to do with this purchase?

Glad they have stuck with sutphen as opposed to public works having Peterbilt freightliner and ihc I wonder if they will geta sutphen tiller at some point

Mike, some consider Sutphen to be the logical successor to Pirsch, so pretty sure it’s one of the reasons Kenosha uses them. Sutphen and Pirsch had a history together, and even today the Sutphen ladder is a variant of the Pirsch. All that aside, Sutphen makes a good truck.

Interesting, this one doesn’t have a pump. I did read Kenosha has been very dedicated to sutphen for over 30 years now and that this is apparatus 19 from sutphen.
