If I’m not mistaken, Chicago is now going with the newer Typhoon cab & chassis since the old style cyclone cab is no longer in production.

All CFD F Series ambo’s from Wheeled Coach have been the gas engine. No diesels ordered. The last diesels were the Brauns. The agreement with Wheeled Coach was a split for F and E series rigs.

Well the E SERIES is less costly and probably one of only a few FORD products that aren’t crap plagued with recalls. The diesel engine on the F SERIES has more than it share of issues alone. CFD already has several E SERIES based ambulances so it makes sense to do that. Standardization doesn’t have many downsides unless you’re one of those that have a penchant for certian FORD models regardless of the fact that they may not be suitable for use.
