It is one of 2 twins North Palos had. This was 803 and the other was 813.
Frankfort had 2 similar solid red ones and Chicago Ridge also had a similar one which ended up in Fox River Countryside.

DaveyB not an Orland rig. Orlands rigs are all red, not black over red. And all their old Spartans are long gone. Some went to Central America. It is an ex North Palos rig as mentioned.

Bill Friedrich has a photo of this engine during its service at North Palos as 803.

Illinois Fire Trucks lists it as an Ex. Orland. Under the old Div. 24 numbering system it was 1715.

That is the retired North Palos Engine 803, a real war wagon that saw a lot of work!!!
