It has a G number now; it is NOT being sold in this group of scrap. The listing also has a list of all the vehicles by their description and shop number. This vehicle is NOT on that list.

Those numbers you’re referring to are shop numbers. They’re given to a rig when the city acquires it, and it stays with it for the entire life of the vehicle in order to track maintenance. 5-6-X or 6-4-x would still just be a radio signature. This rig was probably a C shop number as it was an ambulance first, or a G shop number as it was a specialty vehicle when it was 5-1-3.

If it WAS being sold, it would not be referenced in the paperwork as 5-1-3. That’s the signature of a deployable unit. It would be assigned and referred to by a “spare” number (a single letter A-E followed by three numbers. examples: D537 was an engine, E278 was a ladder truck). I’d consider it’s sale more likely after the paint on that dries. ex-513 may be being kept around for use as a spare of some sort. A 5-6-* or 6-4-* assignment would work for it. Or it might get cannibalized for parts. Too early to tell.

Excuse the Typo. The Haz Mat companies are 511 and 512.

I was wondering if 513 is now out of service as a Unit or if they just replaced it with a new vehicle? It turns out that both units 513 and 514 are or at least were Unit numbers that were assigned to the HAZMAT division. I haven’t been able to trace where they were assigned to however I have a feeling that they might have been assigned to Special Operations on Honore south of Pershing. Both 513 and 514 are listed as being part of the Joint Hazard Assessment team however I haven’t found them located with either 5111 or 5112 (the Hazmat companies). I really wonder what the Joint Hazard Assessment Team is? I would guess that they are involved with another city department such as the Police.

5-1-3 is NOT apart of the scrap vehicles for sale. The list of all vehicles is on the site and the only 2 FD vehicles are B-522, AND B-528 which are ford expenditions. The rest of the vehicles are all police vehicles.

It’s apart of the lot.

Is that part of the sale or just in the pic? The F-450 next to it is. I don’t see 5-1-3 on the list of vehicles for that auction.
