Steve,
I believe its:
1 Engine
1 Mini-Pumper
1 Ambo
1 Tower
1 Buggy
(Note: the old squad rescue engine is for sale)

Hairy is wrong again! This was going to be a stock unit and McCook got their hands on it before it was painted. Pierce already had it engineered and ready for production before McCook even bought it which is why the turnaround was so fast! For the record, the color of the apparatus plays no roll in the lead time of the rig!
I have to admit, the black does look sharp though! The rear steer axles doesn’t look so good! This option would really detour me from having interest. Super high maintenance!

No one will call this unit for mutual aid. The 3 contract medics have high turnover and don’t even know their own still area half the time. They usually send an ambo or engine on mutual and auto aid calls. One neighboring town switched from engine to ambo aid for fireground safety reasons. When the village -employed ff’s were there they drilled with other towns regularly. With rear steer and tak 4 and all the high tech it probably wont even be in service all that much. It will look good in parades though.

Harry, “This was purchased as a stock unit. MacQueen was able to grab this on the line and sell it to McCook. They did that in enough time to where they could customize small things (paint color, etc).” The unique color had nothing to do with the quick turnaround time. It was a stock unit.

Mc Cook Didn’t they fire the whole department and hire Kurtz to staff the place?

Let me shed a little info on this rig. This was purchased as a stock unit. MacQueen was able to grab this on the line and sell it to McCook. They did that in enough time to where they could customize small things (paint color, etc). Rumored to be purchased by Amazon, which is incorrect. The Village of McCook bought this rig outright without any contributions. The black color comes from village hall. I believe the new mayor has ties to Willow Springs in some way or another, and wanted it to be like their old ladder. There are huge developments in the village and I can see this being a big asset to protecting life & property there. All in all, it’s going to be a gorgeous rig, and will have big impacts to McCook and its surrounding communities. Quick turnaround time for sure. Pierce is 18-24 months on all new custom orders if not longer.

That looks great. The old Henry Ford saying that you can have any color you want as long as it’s black.

I thought the article said it was blue B4 also this is the quickest 18 months but this proves my point unique colored rigs get built quicker while it is nice but I am not driving my Ford ranger there I will wait till I trade the ranger in it’s a POS
