a. Ordinance 2022-O-03. An Ordinance providing for the budget and appropriations of the West Chicago Fire Protection District, DuPage County, Illinois, for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2022, and ending May 31, 2023.
b. Ordinance 2022-O-04. An Ordinance authorizing the purchase of a 95ft Seagrave Aerialscope Mid-Mount Platform Truck from Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC, Clintonville, Wisconsin in an amount not to exceed $1,920,640.00.

You can’t tag on to an FDNY order as their bonding process is different than everyone else’s.

I don’t believe most of the FDNY towers are 75s.

Tagging onto FDNY wouldn’t make a whole lot of sense considering this rig is very different from FDNY. This Aerialscope will have a pump on it which is why it’s so costly where FDNY does not have pumps on their Aerialscope’s. It’ll have a different cab from FDNY and most of FDNY’s Aerialscope’s are 75′ where this rig will be a 95′. The Aerialscope is like a crane and they’ve proved themselves for many decades!
There shouldn’t be any question on it lasting longer than Lockport’s rig. Seagrave makes a very solid rig! The Apollo that Lockport had is a relatively newer model tower. It hasn’t proved to stand behind the name of Seagrave yet. Hopefully Seagrave will get the bugs out.

the price isn’t shocking to me with all the pricing increases in the industry…dept by me ordered 2 identical 95 ft Aerialscope Units on Capitol Cabs 1 in 2019 and one in 2020. One was 1.2 mil and one was 1.4 mil, same dept ordered a 2021 Seagraves engine and it was 735k.
far as i know you have to have the depts permission to tag onto an order, barring that you have to order through something like HGAC or some other buying cooperative

yeah, for 2 million dollars it better have more than just gold leaf on it. It better have 18k gold nozzle and fixtures. Maybe tag on to an FDNY order and get a better price. I can’t imagine they are paying 2 mil per.
