This from Austin Lawler:
The Washington DC Fire Department celebrated their 150th birthday over the past weekend. To celebrate they had a parade of current and former apparatus from DC as well as the surrounding area. Here is a video with some eye candy.

Harry, nothing in this world is perfect. If that were the case, no fire department would ever have to replace apparatus again. None of us would ever have to replace our cars or trucks again. Just because dept. ABC has been buying PIERCE forever doesn’t mean that they will in the future. Same with any builder. Some have made the choice to take a generic approach when contracts expire and buy from the builder that will give them the best for the money and not care who’s name is on it. SEAGRAVE and SUTPHEN are better in terms of quality but they are not perfect.

Danny that’s your opinion I know facts look at mike c for instance he insist pierce are bad but tell me why depts keep buying them it is not because they are cheaper rigs price wise spartan is far more reasonable and if any on here thinks eone seagrave don’t have issues there wrong

Hairy – Please do us all a favor and stop posting on here. You are counterproductive! Please stop trying to justify your “knowledge”. I’m begging you!!! Please stop posting on here for the good of the people (and yourself)!!!

Mike c well when franklin pk il had the seagrave no one had to tell me why it was so bad I have to say the only reason we had it was because the former fire chief loved fdny next I saw based on photos when do ladder 2 was hit by a mini van the van was totaled the rig no damage and last there is no seagraves out there color wise that excite me yet but palm beach gardens fl has 3 coming soon so maybe my view will change

I’ll take Hairy’s opinion more seriously when he actually knows something about fire apparatus other than what others tell him.

I’ll have to watch the whole thing later. The bits and pieces I saw looked great.

The Seagrave Capitol is one of the best, if not the best cab/chassis on the market!
