Does Peotone still have the Smeal Tanker?

This engine is a duplicate of the Manhattan engine. Manhattan had placed their order and Peotone had several vehicle issues and decided to move forward with upgrading their fleet and did an add on to the Manhattan spec’d engine.
Both districts have been moving a lot of vehicles out over the last year or two. Currently they both have recently surplussed 3 frontline engines. Manhattans 2006 Pierce Enforcer and 2010 Spartan Alexis and Peotone’s 2006 American LaFrance.
Once these 3 new Rosenbauers are in service both districts will have front line rescue engines along with frontline pumper/tankers and will likely share the 2008 Sutphen shield Peotone has left as their reserve engine.
As part of this fleet upgrade Manhattan ordered an ambulance through Alexis but rejected it for several issues and ended up ordering a Horton I believe. So that’s coming too.

The similarity could be on purpose because the two fire districts Peotone and Manhattan are talking about a merger maybe later this year depending
on a referendum vote by taxpayers in Peotones district……..

Nice looking engine. I can see one of the Manhattan rigs in the background.

Another nice truck Bill…..I’m wondering if Peotones and Manhattan’s have identical specs?
