tim this is the same dept that was using 1985 tower ladders as spares until about 3 years ago… and in 2016 then tl 34 was using a 1985 spare and the frontline rig assigned was a 1988 eone

This is a 1996 HME/Simon/LTI 102′ rear mount aerial platform. It carries the shop ID number FDE283. This rig was originally assigned to Tower 14 from early 1997-2003. The platform hit a viaduct in 1998 and was rebuilt. When Tower 14 received their new Pierce Dash 100′ rear mount platform in 2002, their HME tower ladder was reassigned to Tower 21. This rig is very old. All three of the HME tower ladders should be junked. Tower 24 normally runs a 2002 Pierce Dash 100′ that was originally assigned to Tower 10 (FDE316). That rig had a history of corrosion issues while at Tower 10. I hope CFD orders new engines, trucks and tower ladders thanks to the mayor’s 3.5 billion infrastructure plan. CFD also plans to get new bunker gear for firefighters as part of the plan.
