This from Daniel Hynd:
Downers Grove Tower 102 has been running in a 2002 E-One Hurricane from Phenix City, Alabama for the last couple of days. I was able to get a picture of it at a fire in Lisle. The rig is still labeled for Phenix City and does not have any DGFD markings on it as of now. I have no information regarding the circumstances of why they have it, but I did manage to find the listing for it.

Tim, no one is forcing you to come to this blog. If it bothers you that much to read people banter about apparatus and their problems…there’s other websites you can go to. It is a blog, and people post opinions and discuss things…

This blog makes me giggle. When it comes to apparatus it goes like this: Dept X has an E-one that’s a POS maybe they should buy a Pierce. Dept Y has a Pierce that’s a POS they should buy an E-one. Dept Z used to buy Pierce and E-one now they bought a Rosenbauer. Dept. A used to buy shitty Pierce, E-one and RosenJunk (no offense intended) now they buy Seagrave. Does it really matter? What matters any more? I don’t know. Do you wear a mask when you’re in the car by yourself? I saw a woman wear a plastic face shield in the pool at my gym last week. What’s important? What matters? Ask yourself.

Engine 89 is at Station 89
Engine 89 is a E-one
Engine 90 and Ladder 89 are Pierce

I am surprised they are getting ladder 89 refurbed. I believe it is 9 years old. What is DarWood running front line out of 89? I agree E-One is looking really good right about now!

From what I heard, Ladder 89 is at Pierce getting refurbished. It’s been OOS since last summer. I hope they get it back soon.

Ffpm571 – do you know what happened to Ladder 89, it’s been gone for awhile too?

Well the Pierce didn’t work out and now the Smeal. Maybe the should go with the E-One next time around. Better jack spread anyway.

I would think it was owned by Phenix City who then put it up for sale through the dealer, who is now loaning it to DG. The dealers edit out the lettering on photos when they list them, hence why the listing picture doesn’t have any.

So it appears they sold it to Phenix City, lettered it,and then loaned it to Downers Grove?

The Smeal tower is out of service for repair for apx 3 months. This is a dealer loaner
