Went for a drive the other day and came across a couple rigs.
Brand new Downers Grove Engine 103 and Lisle-Woodridge Tower 51.
Also Lisle-Woodridge Engine 55, plus Oakbrook Terrace Medic 49 and Engine 48.

Around 9:24 p.m. Friday night, the Downers Grove Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 6610 Dunham Road. Upon arrival, heavy smoked and fire were seen coming from the home.
A 45-year-old victim was located inside near the front door and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died. No other people were inside during the fire.
The house was determined uninhabitable due to the extent of the fire.
The Downers Grove Fire Department was assisted by Westmont, Darien-Woodridge, and the Lisle-Woodridge fire departments. The cause of the fire is under investigation with assistance from the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force and The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Village Manager David Fieldman has announced the appointment of Deputy Chief Scott A. Spinazola to the position of fire chief for the Village of Downers Grove, effective Saturday, July 24, 2021. He assumes the role with the retirement of former Chief Jeff Pindelski.
Spinazola joined the Downers Grove Fire Department in 2016 with 28 years of experience in the fire service. Over the past five years as deputy chief, he has been responsible for fire suppression and rescue, Emergency Medical Services activities, and specialized rescues. As Deputy Director of the Emergency Management Agency, he has developed plans for responses to the pandemic, natural disasters and other emergencies. In addition, he is also responsible for strategic planning, the oversight of Standard Operating Procedures, and the training of all fire personnel.
Throughout his career, Spinazola has served as a Training and Safety Bureau Chief, Captain, Lieutenant, and a Firefighter/EMT. He has also received recognition for going above and beyond the call of duty including, Firefighter of the Year, Field Educator of the Year (nominee), and the Joseph Hartmann Award (nominee).

Downers Grove Tower 102 has been running in a 2002 E-One Hurricane from Phenix City, Alabama for the last couple of days. I was able to get a picture of it at a fire in Lisle. The rig is still labeled for Phenix City and does not have any DGFD markings on it as of now. I have no information regarding the circumstances of why they have it, but I did manage to find the listing for it.

The Downers Grove Fire Dept just completed construction and put in service a new burn/training tower completely funded by the Foreign Fire Tax Fund. No village or department funds were used for this project.
