Art, tell the chief it has a 2006 “pre-emission” Caterpillar engine in it.
No diesel particulate filter (DPF).

Does anyone know what the price of the rig is? I’m asking for a fire chief.

Tim if they make a good sale and get a good price then it may be worth it. In other words if they get a good return on their investment. I hope their replacement is as good or better then the rig they are getting rid.

Note that Orland is a Fire Protection District which covers Orland Park, Orland Hills and unincorporated Cook County.

Getting rid of it while the resale value is decent. Is it a smart move? Maybe it is maybe it isn’t.

So the Orland Park fire department appears to be in pretty good shape financially considering they are able to replace their tower ladder at 12 years of age. In most fire departments it would either be going into reserve status once they got their replacement or they would be running with it another few years in front line service.

It’s not former. It’s still in service. And it’s still lettered. It just worked at the Dons hot dogs fire last week, and has done a half dozen runs so far today.
