From the Rosenbauer-America Facebook page:
Troy Fire Protection District is doing a final on their very first Rosenbauer apparatus. This truck is a sharp 3/16″ alum Commander FX pumper which should fulfill all of their future needs. It has a 1500-gal. tank, comes equipped with a 1500-GPM Waterous pump and a 450 hp L9 Cummins engine. This truck features a distinct paint job, top mount pump panel, and a 2600w Vanner Patriot Inverter. With overall dimensions of 35’4″x 8’x10′ 4″ it will fit snug in their station.
Thank you to the Troy Fire Protection District for choosing Rosenbauer Group to build this new apparatus for you!

Our department up here in Minnesota purchased two Rosenbauer engines back in 2015. They are rear mount pumpers with Rosenbauers duel pressure pump which has a high pressure (500psi) hose real in the front bumper. So far they have been decent engines and the high pressure line has done a great job with car fires. There have been problems, but I would not say any more than any of the other manufacturers that we have had in the past.

Chicago area dealership did close. A St. Louis area dealer is taking the area

Sharp looking rig. I’d like to hear some feedback on Rosenbauer. I know Glen Elynn has a couple. South Elgin has one that’s about 5 years old and they just ordered a new E-One. Wheeling has one. What kind of experience are departments having with them? I heard the Chicago area dealership closed.

Harry, the reason they have a lot of money is because they continue to underpay their firefighters. We all know contract firefighters are underpaid but not all of the firefighters in Troy are Contract. This is a Union Department that doesn’t even come close to their comparables. A topped out firefighter is Making roughly $62,500 per year.

this dept has more money than they know what to do with but it is a nice engine thought

The blue tape is for issues that were found during the final inspection. They will then take the engine back to the shop and correct these. Depending on the extent, they either will get it done in time for them to take it home or it may delay their delivery a few days.

What’s with the blue tape all over it?

True, looks way to small to be a 1500 gal with that low hose bed and top mount panel. Doesnt mention any foam that saves some room, are the compartments super shallow?

I’m no expert, just a fan, but that looks alot more like a 500 gallon tank than a 1500 gallon tank. Might one need a 500 hp motor or more to lug around that much water. Low hose bed, low overall body height, single axle creates interset that there may be a typo. Thanks

Another former Pierce customer moving away from Pierce.
Which engine will this replace?

I know that ROSENBAUER is a mixed bag with how it’s being received in terms of acceptance and quality. But it does have a look of no other. Reminds me of early 2010’s F150’s
