Excerpts from nbcchicago.com:
The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District received a call around 10:30 p.m. for a fire at 25W351 Plank Road. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the two-story, single-family home was completely engulfed in flames. One resident was able to escape the 5000-square foot house, telling
first respondersfirefighters he got out through the second floor. He was taken to Edward Hospital with burns and his condition was unknown. No other injuries were reported in the blaze, which Dumas said resulted in the entire house being a loss, though he was unable to estimate monetary damages.
Firefighters remained on the scene Tuesday morning, putting the blaze out after about seven hours at around 5:30 a.m. Part of the difficulty they faced was that the closest hydrants were not near the home, but a few blocks away.
