In my opinion it would make sense to put another tower ladder in service on the far southside either at Truck 40 or perhaps Truck 62 again. If you’re familiar with the history of the tower ladders, Tower Ladder 37 was previously Tower Ladder 62 however they were relocated to Truck 37 in March 1993. That made a lot of sense because there are many more fires on the southeast side near Truck 37 as opposed to Truck 62, however there is a pretty large tower ladder gap on the far southside. Now that Truck 40 has a new house it might make sense to put one there as well.

I agree at the very least Tower 21 is the unit with the most dire need. Does anyone know which E-One facility they are located at the moment? Is it Hamburg?

I suspect that those 2 tower ladders would be given to TL21 and TL5. But how Chicago does things… I wouldn’t believe it till I see it…
