E-One has made a large push back into the Chicago market when they brought on Fire Service as a dealer. E-One builds a nice apparatus as do many manufacturers. Also Pierce can be and has gotten to be pricey.

Glencoe can buy whatever they want but I would guess that the money clip was a major factor in that. I’m sure PIERCE would like to be the only builder around but they have competition and that’s a good thing and by no mean a knock on PIERCE or E-ONE.
Maybe they want to keep the ALF as a parade piece who knows.

Why did they get a eone instead of another pierce?

From my understanding when I stopped by at some point they will be down to 1 engine 2015 Eone Typhoon E30 and 1 squad 2010 Pierce Saber S30 and get rid of the
1996 Pierce Saber which is currently E30, my guess it will be E30R for now.

Chances are the answer to that is yes. My guess is they will get rid of the 35 year old American LaFrance and put the 1996 Pierce in Reserve.
I don’t know if this is going to be built like a Squad or not. Maybe they will use this engine, the 2010 Pierce and their Ambulance will be frontline.

I wonder if they are going to get rid of that 35 year old AMERICAN LaFRANCE?
