Oh yeah and one of the companies in the 10th Battalion (Engine Co. #5) runs out of a homeless shelter that not only isn’t in their district its not even in the city of gary it is in calumet township in their multipurpose building where they have to contend with parties going on till 2AM or 3AM on weekends and the party room is directly below where they guys are supposed to sleep and the living quarters aren’t much better in the kitchen you can literally cook your eggs while your taking a shit the toilet is in the center of the so called kitchen. They have to run across a parking lot to get to their rig because its held in another building, so rain, snow, sleet, tornadoes they gotta run across the parking lot to get to their rig and once in the rig they need to make up time because they are close to 30 blocks away from where they should be at. The engine coming from midtown should be 2nd due anywhere in glen park but that doesn’t happen because they are closer to all of the runs that come in for glen park because E5 is so far out of its City/District its absolutely ridiculous.

The Hard Hitters of the Tenth Battalion. The men of the 10th have been in battle for a long time. These are the guys you want to be working with, and these are the guys you want next to you in the event something goes wrong. They know what they are doin and are EXCELLENT at that and if anyone thinks anything different I suggest you try to keep up with these guys at the several fires they see a shift and each one is run like clockwork. THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!!!
