BTW, the other night when I pulled into an ED, I saw the new 13 in service parked between two of the current Ford Brauns, with another one and then ours across the way. She very much looked like the ugly little sister next to her big brothers. The graphics, do not look good either IMO. Way too understated with all the white. Hoping for lots more remounts.

How many new buggies did CFD get in this shipment? I like the red/green better than the red/blue.

The house is 51, named after the engine co as it should be. They don’t run a two piece because there are no extra spare snorkels to use. They’re also hard to find even if the production co wanted to buy one. I also think that it’s budgetary too, as another rig costs money to run and to put people on.
Someone on here said, the ambo has the other other colors to break up the white for the camera. Makes as much sense as anything I’ve heard.

Yes the bue stripe on squad 3 not an accurate representation of CFD colors. How about the fact that CFD squads are two piece units. I don’t think that the fire house has a number, but I could be wrong on that.

Traditions, pride i get it…. But ultimately when there is an emergency are you really gonna care about what color lights you have??? NO!!!

Does it really matter what type of light these ambos have??? Green, white, blue, really does it matter??????? Don’t get why some just make a huge deal over this????

Are the new buggies the Same as the field chiefs have?

I cannot understand why the producers of the show ‘Chicago Fire’ included a BLUE stripe on the squad & ambulance they use in the show. It is NOT an accurate representation of CFD colors. Does anybody know why they would do this??

Where are the new ambulances at? Is that North & Throop?
#13 by Josh Boyajian on March 28, 2014 - 6:51 PM
Kevin I don’t know what your reading buddy. The re-chassised ambos, and the two new trucks have the Red, White, and 1 green vision SLR, the first batch of new Buggies have the same configuration. As I said in the the post, only the 3 new Buggies have blue on the lightbars.

It does not say the ambos have blue lights. Only the buggies. The remount should be the standard Federal that’s on 10, 30 and 82. I do wonder what 13 has for front lighting as it’s all clear wig colored LED.

Dg if you this post It says the new ambulance 89 and 13 have blue lights also

Kevin, if you read the previous threads, only the 3 newest buggies marked for 2-2-2, BC7 and BC8 have blue lens on the light bar. Ambulances were never mentioned with blue lights.

So not only are they getting the WC Type III’s, they’re also still doing remounts. Also, the remounts have the current style graphics while the WC’s have the new graphics. This is gonna be interesting…..
