Mr. Buckley, contact Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus @ 1-866-285-9305 and ask if Stock#: 04499 is still available.

Is the bottom picture of Downers Grove gone yet? Would you know if it would be available for purchase?

One front line at each station is the plan from my understanding.
#5 by The DH on December 27, 2013 - 5:36 PM
That makes sense, except they will have three, since they have ordered 2 additional. Two at Station 3 and the other at 1?

If I had to guess, Addison will run the two new quints when they arrive out of station 3. One will run as the engine and the other and the truck company. I would then assume the engine currently at station 3 would go to station 2 and replace the engine being sold.

So is Addison going to all quints and dropping a company (the tower)? If I remember correctly the only bay that a quint will fit an aerial at Station 2 is the south bay where they service the rigs. Be interesting to see the shuffling of companies once all the quints are in-service.

Addison ordered two quints, the same as the one they bought last year. They are not buying a new tower at this time. They have the tower and the 1996 engine out of station two for sale. Addison runs the quint right now out of station 1 and the tower out of station 3. I believe the quint was at station 3 cause the tower was down for service I am guessing.

Wasnt the Addison Tower sent back to Pierce trying to use the Lemon Law.

Chuck that DG rig is far from it. Those are 136K of hard miles, Engine 2 ran village wide on all AFA’s, chased medic calla and went Mutual aid/ response to Westmont for 11 years. I drove it for 12 of its 19 years, I know it was in an accident when it was 2 years old where the body hit a concrete planter box on a turn and tweaked the frame. Its a workhorse but very tired. The matching rig is Engine 4 the other reserve ( was engine 3)is in much better shape

That DG rig is immaculate. Looks like a delivery picture, much less a For Sale picture.

DG Engine 2 is still a reserve piece. Engine 5 is being replaced a 2014 Pierce Saber and Old Engine 5 will become the new reserve Engine 2

Based on some recent DuComm radio traffic, Addison is running two aerials again. For a while, it appeared as if the one quint was out at Sta. 3, and Sta. 1 was running an engine & ambo. Now, it sounds like they’ve got the quint back at Sta. 1, running with the ambo & Sta. 3 has some type of aerial there (presumably a tower), but I’m not entirely sure.

My understanding is Downers Grove is getting a new engine to replace Engine 5. Engine 5 Will then become a reserve piece. From what I have heard the new engine will be a Pierce.

Yes the quints are both pierce and 75ft
#16 by Bill Post on December 24, 2013 - 2:06 PM
Are the two new Quints that are on order from Addison also going to be from Pierce? Will they both be 75 footers like Quint 1 is or will any of them be Tower Ladder Quints to replace the one in this post that was sold?
That’s a good question that DH posed as to whether the 75 foot Quint is still as station 1 or if it may have been moved to Station 3?
If not is Station 3 only running with the Engine or are they running with an Aerial from somewhere else?

Maybe Niles could buy the old Addison Tower if they are so eager to be a member of the Tower Club?! Would the Fleet Manager approve this purchase?

Evan, from my browser I see the answers to you questions all in the original post. Under the engine photo Bill Friedrich explains all of it.

Is the bottom picture a Downers Grove engine? Any updated info on the new engine their getting?
#20 by Josh Boyajian on December 24, 2013 - 10:19 AM
Addison just ordered two more quints
#21 by The DH on December 24, 2013 - 8:41 AM
Is the new quint out at former Station 3 (presumed 73) as the truck company now?
