This from Erik Haak:
This is an update to Dennis McGuire’s post from April 20th. The vehicle that Dennis had photographed is no longer parked outside the building and now this was parked behind the fabrication shops when I drove past Sunday afternoon. I don’t know which turret wagon this is, but its location behind the shops would seem to further the idea that the new rig will be some sort of deluge unit.

Dunno, I’ve not seen 6-7-3 recently, but the pics of it and from what I remember 6-7-3 has a red back, while 6-7-6 has the aluminium. They might have changed it though……..
On the other subject, one would think with 6-7-1 OOS for two years now, if they were going to re-chassis they would have done so, unless the Jan fire changed their thinking…….
Thank you spounng45 for the info.

I believe that’s 673 sitting in the yard, not 676

Do we know where is 6-7-1 is? The only thing that makes me doubt it’s a re-chassis for 6-7-6 is that the new unit is a much heavier duty rig. Seems to be more in line w/ 6-7-1.

Today a CFD FF said something about these being replaced slowly. What I would like to see is a Workstar for 6-7-1 and the rest be Fords or even chevys

I’d Rather See 6-7-1 get that new chassis NOW. Yes, It DOES look like 6-7-6 needs repair, BUT lets be honest – the chassis IS there , 6-7-6 is there and 6-7-1 is NOT. Logical comprehension says this is a new 6-7-6. Maybe we can hope this means they are actively seeking a new chassis for 6-7-1. Can we Hope????

Good observation Martin. 6-7-6 may be in for repairs and not connected to the new rig.

It also has something wrapped around one of the turrets by the way. But I heard the same rumor as what Robert said.

Like how I said about the pic of the new F-Series. Rumors were to replace the old ones

I feel like I’m reading ‘Car & Driver’ where they have spy shots of camouflaged new vehicle designs…and everyone’s guessing what the vehicle will look like, options, etc!
