Daniel J. Durbin, EMT-B, KC9STX sent this information about the McHenry County Emergency Management Agency (MCEMA):
The MCEMA has a communications unit (EM-52) and a heavy equipment unit (EM55). We also have a minivan (EM-50), desginated as the shift commander’s vehicle, a cargo equipment trailer (T-1), a sheltering trailer (T-2), and a power generator / Light Unit (P-1). The director also has a car (EM-01), and the assistant director has one also (EM-02). They are used McHenry County Sheriff’s Department squad cars. EM-50 was purchased for MCEMA, so were T-1, T-2, and P-1. EM-52 was a Snap-On delivery truck before belonging to the Hebron Rescue Squad as a heavy rescue. EM-55 is a state owned vehicle assigned to the MCEMA. The office is located at 2200 N. Seminary Avenue in Woodstock. EM-50, EM-55, EM-01, and EM-02 are housed there. EM-52 is housed at a location in Hebron, and the trailers are housed in a storage barn just off the government campus in Woodstock. The building is the McHenry County Government Center. We operate on several systems for radios. VHF: 155.0250 (KTB234), 146.8350 (Amateur Radio) (K9ESV), and on the McHenry County Starcom system which is trunked 800 mhz. There are approximately 50 volunteers plus the director, assistant director, emergency planner, and executive secretary who are salaried.
