This from Eric Haak:
The Hobart Indiana Fire Department responded to the report of smoke coming from a theater across the street from South Lake Mall at about 1130 Saturday (9/27) morning. It turned out that the theater was being demolished and a fire had started on the side of the building that was adjacent to an occupied Michael’s Craft Store. The fire was fairly well advanced and a Box Alarm was requested. Companies were working in both sectors A and C with Crown Point’s tower ladder up front and Merrillville’s truck in the back. Images in this gallery were taken about one hour in.

The Broadview Fire Department in MABAS Division 20 covers just under two square miles from one station which was once stacked full of American LaFrance units. Today there are still two American LaFrance units in Broadview, one is a 1982 Century Series engine and the other is a one-of-a-kind Grumman AerialCat tower ladder on a low profile American LaFrance chassis.
Dennis McGuire, Jr. submitted images for this update which includes two ambulances, two engines, the tower ladder, a pickup, and an X-military AM General Humvee.

The Broadview Fire Department conducted live fire training exercises on Thursday at Filmore and 17th. They did room fires in a vacant house for several hours before the house was well involved. Tim Olk was on-hand and submitted several images of the firefighters, the apparatus, and the fires. Other MABAS Division 20 departments were also included in the training evolutions.
Tim has a large gallery of images HERE.

Thanks to all of the readers who brought to our attention the errors which occurred when Bolingbrook was added to the site last week. Evidently the proof reading/checking phase of the upload was over looked which resulted in several errors. Hopefully, all has been corrected with the listing of Truck 1, the updated radio frequency, and the station numbers and addresses.

Bill Friedrich submitted an image of Hillside Truck 403, the 2010 Pierce Velocity 105′ quint which replaced the 1985 Grumman AerialCat. The Grumman was sold to the Northern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA). Nipsta also acquired two other recently retired area trucks. They now have X-Niles Truck 2 a 1992 Pierce Lance 100′ TDA and X-Evanston Truck 22, a 1990 Pierce Lance TDA.
